How to force restart my iPad Air?

If your iPad Air is not responding, and you can’t turn it off or on, you can try forcing it to restart.

Depending on your iPad Air generation, the way to force restart your device may be different. If you have the latest iPad Air without a “home button” you should follow this instruction. To force restart your iPad Air, press and quickly release the volume up button (on the right side of your device), press and quickly release the volume down button (on the right side of your device), then press and hold the Top button (on the top of your device). When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If you have an older iPad Air with a “home button” you should follow this instruction. To force restart your iPad Air, press and hold both the Top button (on the top of your device) and the Home button (under the screen) at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
